As i was thinking about plans for today, i squeezed the toothpaste on my purple toothbrush and started brushing. i was planning to go either a swim or run. but looking at the perfectly scorching weather and myself in the mirror i was giving it a second thought. i was weighing the importance of 2 things. My darkskinnedface which will become worst VS the fats bulging out. i decided to go for it. I was suntanning indirectly as i walk towards the entrance of the swimming pool. i remember those times when it was newly opened. the snake-like queue was painstakenly long and neverending, as though a thousand million zillion 42-inch plasma televisions were given away free of charge and there was no tommorow. I remembered dragging my feet home in sunken spirits after ending our agonising mission of searching fruitlessly for the last person in the queue. I must agree that i was incredibly cheap. prices for children and senior citizens was only 80 cents, a dollar 50 for adults. it does not only have a competition pool for swimmers, a wave pool with hourly showers, a lazy pool with strong currents and 2 kids pool; with playgrounds. Well, there was no queue today; because it was a monday. i smiled to myself. content. foolishly assuming the crowd inside the pool because of the queueless entrance. I paid 80cents for the entrance free. like i always say. i preferred being a kid. i pushed the card inside the machine at the same moment, taking a peep at the swimming pool . To my astonishment, it was packed. then it ring a bell, it was school holidays for Secondary and primary school kids. The sun was standing too strong to pray that the clouds would overpower the sun. As i walk towards the competiton pool, i took a glimpse of the others pools. the Mushroom. Toddlers, adorable babies in their size bikinies, children with colourful armfloats and flowery swimming costumes. The wave pool was filled with guys in their trunks jumping against the weak waves. Teenagers in their bikinies also looked very pretty and sexy. Couples spending their time together in swimming pools was sweet and lovely. The stenchful chlorine smell breezed through my nose together with scent of the trees swaying the wind. combination wasnt perfect. i was looking for a tiny space in the shade to hide my things , a towel and the clothes i was wearing, i found it in between a malay teenage couple and a malay family. i stripped. i was wearing a sleeveless green arena swimsuit inside. which has a hole at the back. haram. and headed for the side of the pool which was empty surprisingly, not for long though. The water was a perfect contrast to the weather. I jumped in slowly, not wanting to make a splash. put on my goggles and started my swim. i had to shift my position regularly in order not clash with other swimmers and also those inconsiderate others who were swimming horizontally across the pool. i jus concentrated, focused on my aim. As i swim i ignored the what my other senses were telling me. i only had one aim on mind. it was 4.30pm, i stepped out of the pool with a proud look on my face, satisfied withmyself. took my things, thanking god, and i started towards the toilet for my worst nightmare. The toilet was house full; as i expected.then I SAW IT. A girl darker than wart i think i used to be. i pulled the strap of my swimsuit to compare my tan. The girl at the other side of the mirror did the same. it was hideous. I noticed the woman beside me was giving me a side glance and disgusted face due to my unglamness, so i quickly ran to the nearest subicle. i wiped myself and stared at the mirror i was horrified at myself. I was seriously blacken, for once, i hated the sun and my urge to swim. Quickly got dressed , homed to bathe. My close relatives, came over to visit my grandmum and my dad who have jus returned from egypt. the trip was religious purpose. i am yawning and i typed this line. AND here i am blogging. TODAY IS 17TH march.
